In need of some help and advice. I am a single mother to 3 children and one on the way due in Sept. About 4 weeks ago I woke up from a nap and my body started itching everywhere and it wouldnt stop. I went to my OBGYN and they told me to get Benadryl. Then a few days later my eyes started to turn yellow. I went to the ER and they ran some tests and kept me due to me being pregnant. They ran a HEP C test on me because I told them about 2 years ago my boyfriend used needles. My HEP C test came back negative. My liver enzymes were getting higher and higher everyday. It got to the point that my doctor wa scared and sent me 3 hours from home to a hospital for high risk in pregnancy. When I got to this hospital my liver enzyme count was 800 and normal i between 20/30. Dr. thought I was having liver failure. I didnt have any cramps or paints..the only symptoms were itching, yellow eyes and my urine was orange. They ran another HEP C test when I got here and again it came back negative. Then the Dr. said I had something called Cholestasis of Pregnancy. That makes your liver enzymes go up the itch and the jaundice and the orange urine. My liver enzymes have gone from 800 down to 100 back up to 500. The itch is so bad that its all I do is itch. They have put me on steroids but its only in doses. Then they will take me off for a few days and I go insane because it is unbareable. About a week ago they took my blood and they said the anitbodies are real high so they sent it off. Well....It came back today and I am HEP C positive. I am so scared because my baby will most likely be born this way. I am so sad and so hurt. Dr. said there is a slight chance that he wont get it. Now the Dr. are sending in a whole new team that deal with this disease but I am to stay on the maternal floor due to me being pregnant. I have been in the hospital for 4 weeks and I am unable to work. I havent gotten anything for my baby and I will be in here until I have him and then if they take him early he will be in the NICU. My 3 other kids are at home with their grandmother until I get out of here. I have lost everything due to this. I was just wondering if anyone knows any sites that will help me get back on my feet. My kids start school in Aug. and I have no idea what I am going to do. Is there any forreal websites that will help me since I am sick and cant afford anything right now for me or my children?
